New from the makers of PowerLok® substation bus
connectors, comes a remarkable method for electrical cable connection.
Presenting CableLok™ .
CableLok's state of the art design combines radial swage
technology and the experience of over a half a century in the connector
business. The CableLok™ system can swage a variety of
configurations to a wide range of cable sizes with a minimum amount of
installation tooling required.

CableLok™ Advantages
- Single Radial Swage - the uniform radial swage allows complete
contact with the cable and the inside diameter of the barrel (360°
compression).
- T6 Hardened Pad - eliminates retightening of bolts.
- Minimizes metal relaxation - the connector material is swaged
beyond the elastic limit so metal relaxation is reduced.
- Offset Tangs - allows both sides of the tang to be used equally
as a connection surface.
- Easy installation - installs in adverse weather with a single
swage.
- Tin Plated - for use on aluminium or copper cable.

It is a revolutionary way to look at joining your substation bus
bar. And yet the technology comes with decades of proven use in other
demanding environments like aerospace and military shipbuilding. The
PowerLok® substation bus connection system offers the reliable,
permanent performance of a weld at a fraction of the installation time
using the Deutsch 360° radial swaging technique. That means the
PowerLok® system goes on cold, without welding, using specially
designed compression connectors and handheld tooling.
PowerLok® leaves no room for doubt in its performance
under the most undesirable conditions. This unique system allows fast,
reliable installation throughout rain, snow, sleet and swirling winds.
In short, any weather conditions which are not advisable or allowable
using welded fittings. So now with PowerLok®, you can schedule
your installations without having to concern yourself with the
availability of a welder or having agreeable weather.
Extensive comparative testing has shown that the PowerLok®
system outperforms welded counterparts in tensile, bending, vibration,
Corona/RIV as well as Current Cycle tests and Fault Current testing.
Each PowerLok® bus connection results in superior mechanical, thermal
and electrical characteristics. Qualified to meet or exceed all the
nationally recognized standards, including ANSI C119.4 and NEMA CC1, the
PowerLok® system raises the quality standard of all substation
bus connections. In fact, it renders many conventional methods obsolete.
Some customers are surprised to find out the few installation
tools that are needed to start using PowerLok®. What's more,
the product training required is so simple, it often takes less than
half an hour. The tooling is compact and portable. The system is
designed so that one person can complete the entire installation, from
fit up to final swaging. The tools are hydraulically actuated using
10,000 psi pumps. Some pumps which you may already be currently using
can be converted for use with our tools.
